Heads up: the Airport has scheduled intermittent, overnight closures of its Main Runway for two nights this month, and more closures are planned from August to October.

The closures are necessary while crews perform preventative maintenance and construction.

The work begins this month, when Main Runway 14R/32L at King County International Airport/Boeing Field will be closed for two nights. From August to October, the runway will be closed overnight from Thursday night through Sunday night, into the following mornings.

Here is a full schedule of the closures:

  • June 23-24
    • Saturday: 9:45 p.m. to 7 a.m.
    • Sunday: 9:45 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Aug. 9-Oct. 15
    • Thursday: 9:45 p.m. to 3:15 a.m.
    • Friday: 9:45 p.m. to 5 a.m.
    • Saturday: 9:45 p.m. to 7 a.m.
    • Sunday: 9:45 p.m. to 5 a.m.

During these closures, KCIA’s Utility Runway 14L/32R will remain open. Operations on that runway are limited to aircraft weighing 12,500 pounds or less.
