Temporary, intermittent runway and taxiway closures Oct. 9-20 for Airport runway painting

We’re doing some touch-ups to the airfield this month, so King County International Airport/Boeing Field users should expect intermittent taxiway and nighttime runway closures.

From Oct. 9 to Oct. 20, the Airport and its contractor are scheduled to remove the airfield’s temporary, surface runway holding positioning signs and replace them with permanent, thermoplastic markings.

During this work, users should expect intermittent taxiway intersection closures and nighttime runway closures as crews remove and replace the signage with the markings.

The Airport will release specific closure times to pilots via the NOTAM notification system.

During the work – which is weather-dependent – Airport staff will be on site working closely with our contractor team. We will coordinate these activities with Air Traffic Control to minimize operational impacts.
