300 pets rescued from Hurricane Harvey come through Boeing Field

This week, King County International Airport/Boeing Field helped welcome 200 cats and 100 dogs from Texas who were displaced by Hurricane Harvey.

The pets were flown from Texas to Seattle, with the hopes that they’ll find homes with new, loving owners here in the Northwest.

The effort was led by Seattle Humane, PAWS and Wings of Rescue (who with the Airport helped connect 100 at-risk pets to future owners in June).

It was a tremendous effort to help some of our friends affected by this emergency. On Wednesday, when the first batch of pooches arrived at the Airport, volunteers welcomed them off the plane with love. Crate by crate, they carried them to vehicles that would transport the pets to King County animal shelters. Read more about Seattle Humane’s efforts:
