Here’s your spring news on the Airport Master Plan Update

The Master Plan Update Working Group for King County International Airport/Boeing Field

So what’s going on with the Master Plan Update for King County International Airport/Boeing Field? Here are a few updates:

What we’ve been up to

The airport planning team collected feedback on a set of land use options from the Airport Working Group (AWG) in January. This feedback, in addition to comments received from community members, will be considered and incorporated as the team continues to refine and analyze draft options.

Reviewing planning documents

The Master Plan Update project is funded by a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) that requires interim review and feedback of planning documents. The planning team is currently awaiting the FAA’s feedback on the technical findings and assumptions regarding the Airport’s forecasts, inventory and capacity analysis. This is an important step.

Rescheduling the spring AWG meeting and open house

When the planning team completes the FAA review process, the Airport Working Group will reconvene its discussions about a set of draft alternatives and supporting analysis. It will present this information to the broader community through a second open house and additional community meetings. For now, it must postpone the AWG meeting and the public open house originally scheduled for May 23.

Stay tuned

We will share information on the future meeting dates once that information becomes available. Thanks for your patience!
