Airport’s Master Plan Update process takes flight with new webpage and working group meetings

Master Plan Update photo for blogKing County International Airport launched a Master Plan Update webpage to provide the public with information about this comprehensive study. The webpage features a timeline for the 18-month process, technical working papers and contact information for questions and feedback.

The process includes convening a Master Plan Update Airport Working Group. The group held its first meeting in May at the airport. Members toured the airport facilities; were introduced to project team staff and the update process; discussed their roles, responsibilities and draft charter; and learned about key findings from the first technical working paper related to the airport’s existing inventory and aviation activity forecasts.

The Working Group will meet approximately five times over the next 18 months to provide input on technical working papers and the airport’s regulatory framework for future development that must be submitted for approval to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Working Group’s next meeting is expected to be held in September 2016.
